We are here as the managers of the earth though, in many cases, we haven’t made a very good job of it.

When you are young, you think you will live forever.

When you are old, you realise that a human life is very sort—

As a friend of mine use to say, ‘A blink in the eye of a Time Lord!’

I do not have a religion that I practice because I believe religion has been the cause of many wars. The problem is that many religious people believe that folks with different opinions from theirs are wrong. It’s important to be able to see the other person’s point of view.

Though not religious, I do believe in the difference between right and wrong. Right is—love, friendship, honesty and treating others as you would like them to treat you.

Wrong is—hatred, dishonesty and lack of consideration for other people.

Every time we do something shitty we make the world a lesser place to live in, not only for other people but for ourselves too.

No matter how grand, important, famous or wealthy we might think we are, death is the great leveller and we will all finish up equal.

Each of us is lucky to have the experience of living with in this wonderful, though sometimes cruel world. If we know the answer to why we were here, it’s possible we might not bother to carry on. So perhaps it’s best we don’t.
