Marvel's Iron Fist does not wait to address the question, "What is the purpose of life?". In the first season, episode one, Danny Rand the protagonist has a conversation with a homeless man named Big Al. Big Al exclaims that “For like a couple of million years we were all hunters and gatherers. Life was good.” That is until people started farming and building cities when everything went wrong, and that unlike others, he has stayed true to his purpose as a hunter and gatherer. Danny responds with a “fake Buddha” quote, "Your purpose in life is to find your purpose." Big Al asks what his purpose is in life, and Danny replies that it is, "To protect K'un-Lun from all oppression. Honor the sacrifice of Shou-Lao the Undying.", which ties into the Marvel Universe.
Even though the Buddha quote is fake, it is still a good one. The version that is circling the internet is "Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it."
